[05/20/2026 03:06 AM PDT] - Amending another active vuln centralized across distros, with patch in circulation per kernel development pipeline, yet to be applied ecosystem-wide. This vuln can be found below, linked courtesy of user ~royr.

As of this recent posting, all active regulars, endusers, and whoever catching up to events the date of this note will notice some adjustments in the digit count related to the community personnel + userbase. Per the previous notice, there is no cause for alarm. With consideration to this new circulated vuln + some developments internal to the network's local chat, dream (authored by user ~ffog, maintained by user ~ingrix + contributions by community peers and collaborators), discussion followed potential for alterations to the chat without authorization to access-managed data files which operate program functionality for the chat preceded by misapplied urgent-level system features for demonstrating seemingly negligible antics maneuvering exploitation of the buffer and spoofed username assigned chat input would escalate up to demonstrating execution of those same possible program alterations without the need for those system authorizations.

Although much of it all taking place with interest to engaging vigilance in awareness to responsible system maintenance, in turned acutely brought to mind very much a severe vigilant awareness of the potential for escalated attack vectors, the voluntary community members who put time and effort in to this network by their generosity, and the risk for widespread irreversible damage if ever the case those attacks make it to valuable system users from which damage may circulate into widespread descent.

In effort to mitigate those potential risk outcomes, although albeit at minimum an admittedly meager precautionary obstacle for which to delay potential inevitable factors, an abstraction of groups have been made between users who were previously associated with moderation now part of what is retroactively being addressed to as collaborative users and/or community peers all of who involve the entirety of what would be considered system support. Collaborative users involving members who have actively maintained or earnestly engaged network projects that have become integrated into significant system backend as well as active project system users (e.g. ~pa2 via azuracast, hashtv, ingrix via polluxd, etc) and community peers who discuss or volunteer contributions related to concept ideas and system support concerns (e.g. ~royr per CVE awareness, ~spuos via safeguard patches, ~mendiablo per azuracast + related conceptual conributions) out of which for now 2 users shall remain as moderation until it is respective projects currently under local git repo authorization and actively running chrooted projects can be safely modified to reflect the revision for system group access maintained between collaborators and peers.

**URGENT - READ CAREFULLY** We are not under threat as of this moment. If in the event you've noticed an 'inconsistency' related to your personal keystore in regards to the Hashnix pubkey and fingerprint being served - this is not cause for caution. This is intended. Recently, it has been brought to the attention of hashnix support members, several different CVE's all of which have built up to present severe risk factors which have gone too long without being properly addressed. That said, be assured for this moment that the SSH keys have been rotated and you are safe to replace previously used keystores. The concluding digits for the new fingerprints will be posted soon via this nnouncement as well as being published from the "/about/print/" section of the website. Only the concluding digits will be posted for basic confirmation purposes, as well as an admittedly over-vigilant effort to consider for security concerns related to avoiding any 'excessive exposure" of sensitive details that can be potentially exploited for vulnerability.

A lot's changed since the last year, and last posts. WOAH! 60 users now, with overall 68 account... count. What's up with that? I don't even know how this place is getting anyone in anymore jeeeez louiiiiiiise-but, I digress. Since there's humble cool lil traction rolling through, with many greets and thanks to all y'all who take part and hang out always, there's a variety of small but I feel meaningful quick QoL (Quality-of-Life) improvement fixes through the web pages. Will be doing so soon for the gemini hosted end of service also (give THAT a shot, haha-smallnet!). I didn't want to keep this space left hanging without any new updates since-last year?! C'mon!! So, there's a new web player, the resources on the /about and ../print pages are updated and populated with better formatting, plus clearer transparency. [09/25/2025 12:35 AM PDT] - Recently, it has come to our attention here with the moderation at hash that there has been unauthorized activity happening internally concerning a user who has been found to have been in violation with terms here, as well as across other remote tildes + pubnices (sp?). There was no previous knowledge of this inappropriate conduct, and as a result, has been addressed promptly. This user and their projects are no longer hosted here at this time with disciplinary action to those violations of terms at this juncture. Apologies to all affected for the immense trouble and inconvenience. The terms, at this time, are being revised as well as better safeguards configured in order to stay best prepared to prevent for any future attempts moving forward. [09/19/2025 08:09 PM PDT] - Check it - 3 months! 10+ USER bump!!! We -now- have 49 users on hashnix!* *tosses confetti everwhere, irritatingly so* Here's a list of changes that transpired during that timeframe.
1. New and improved, better efficient bash sourced cgi's for radio media and hashtv available on gemini! (courtesy of ~ingrix, who also maintains the server polluxd which hashnix runs on for gemin protocol)
2. Additional privileged group with granted access to perks, expanded program availibility, etc w/ donation (known as the "stash", drop a dime to learn more!)
3. Regular film nights held at Saturday nights, 0200 UTC approx - more info found on system, coordinated on "dream" chat along with a community-contributed film night list in our /pub/collab DIR. (Provided per fair use. Updates relayed to IRC when users active with expressed intrigue)
4. Soon to come - portal page grand opening, new community-provided gemini tools, radio show openings, multimedia network development + much more
